A Scoutmaster is....prepared! How did you spend your winter break? Your Scoutmasters spent it cleaning out the scout closet then prepping to go to virtual meetings.

Scouts worked multiple service projects in the month of December. Linda's Legacy Cookie Bake with Crew 346, Jingle Bell Beaver Day @ Broad Creek, and Wreaths Across America with Girl Scout Troop 2289.

December is always a busy month for many, so with the COH early in the month we were ready for some fun! Ice skating and mini golf!

Our first joint Court of Honor with our linked boys and girls troops.  The close of the 68th year for the boys and 1st year for the girls.

Rocketry Campout - Camping at Rodney Scout Reservation provided time on the rifle range, lanching the rockets scouts built on the parade field, and a sunrise walk on the beach.  All adding up to a wonderful crisp fall camp out.

Raingutter Regatta - Both units ran a community event for the Raingutter Regatta. So many interesting and creative boats!

Orienteering Day - Both troops participated in learning skills using a compass and map to find locations. After learning they participated in a competition to test their skills.

Webelos Woodsmoke - Our combined troops both manned a station on the Webelos trail as well a service patrol for the event. Both units also showed their leadership by  stepping in to help MC for evening gathering and color guard for the flag retirement ceremony.

Maze Quest Fun Park - A fun family day at the park looking for clues in the corn maze and exploring all the other mazes at the park.

Tuckahoe State Park 346G - We had a relaxing weekend playing disk golf and visiting the birds of prey.

Court of Honor 346B - Our boys received many awards as well as 3 rank advancements.

346G spent an evening reviewing their ladder making skills.

Court of Honor 346G - Our girls received many awards as well as our first two rank advancements.

Fort Frederick State Park - After a month of combined meetings, we practiced our pioneering skills on the river. The goal was to build a raft that would support one patrol member in a float down the river.

National Night Out - All of scouting at PUMC participated in opening ceremonies & the troops helped run game tables for the event.

Summer Camp At Broad Creek 346G- Our first year at camp means FYC, First Year Camper Program. Campers worked on rank requirements from Scout to First Class while having a blast trying new opportunities at summer camp. Favorites were the rifle range and swimming.

Summer camp at Henson 346B - Our boys had so much fun being in person. They earned merit badges and had troop evening activities. Favorites were being together for troop activities in the evenings and our campfire skits.

First Aid Day - Scouts practiced skills for first aid rank requirements thru First Class.

Totin' Chit 346G - The girls chartered in March 2021. This is one of our first meetings after chartering when we were only meeting monthly. Shortly after this we began meeting weekly.

Patapsco State Park, Camp Cone - 346G worked on the Totin' Chit, Firem'n Chit and rank requirements. 346B - enjoyed one of their first in person events, working on rank advancement and fellowship with their newly blended Troop 000.

Scout Skills Day 346G- After determining our skills were a little rusty post lock down, the girls gathered for our first BSA event to practice fire building and cook lunch individually.

Campfire 346B - One of our first in person gatherings after our being virtual for a year. We also welcomed Troop 000, meeting IRL for the first time for many of us.
